The FUToURISM Project, Integrated and Sustainable Development of Tourism Regions, is supported by the European Programme INTERREG IIIC witch promotes an interregional co-operation between regional and other public authorities across the entire EU territory and neighbouring countries.
The FUToURISM project is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), as part of the Structural Funds and by national funds.
FUToURISM gives access to experience of other actors involved in regional development tourism policy and creates synergies between "best practices". It concentrates on the exchange of experiences and shared working methodologies helping sustainable tourism development of each partner region.
The Regional Council of Auvergne in France is the lead partner of the FUToURISM project which brings together 5 European partners: Greece, Ireland, France, Malta and Slovenia working on 5 mini projects as follows:
“PARKoMOTION” for Greece: the assimilation of strategic development plans and promotional marketing plans for natural parks and environmentally protected areas focusing on sustainable tourism development.
“HRD Tourism”, Human Resources Development Tourism for Ireland: best practice in the integrated management and development of Human Resource, solving issues relating to language barriers and cultural identity.
“Green Europe” for France: market launch and marketing for the rural tourism supply.
“CULToURISM” for Malta: integration of local heritage and culture in tourism and recognition and marketing of Maltese local cultural identity.
“Best Health” for Slovenia: transfer of best practices in the field of health and well being through the enhancement and development of thermal resources and outdoor sports.
